New team leader - flying start
A workshop program developed by Outcome Hungary.
The arrival of a new leader signifies a significant change in the life of a team. If we don't dedicate quality time and attention to this change, the team's performance can decrease for many months, and a lot of time and energy can be wasted on cautious probing and experimentation. The process can be significantly accelerated with our 3-hour program, the most important outcome of which is to initiate open, honest communication between the new leader and team members – on all topics, whether related to personal questions, leadership and its acceptance, or professional/content-related issues.
The program is recommended to be held within 1-6 months of the new leader's arrival. An external facilitator is definitely needed to lead the program; this can be a facilitator provided by us, or an internal company colleague from outside the team, with some experience in group facilitation (e.g., from HR department).
Possible number of participants: 3-25 people (or any number, for larger teams, in multiple organizational units of 3-25 people)
Duration: 3 hours; if more time is available, we suggest playing one of the games from our "Let's Get Acquainted" selection as a closing activity after the program.
Location: indoor or outdoor, chairs, flipchart required
