Experience drumming
A program element developed by Ethnosound.
The interactive drum show provides the team with a unique experience of making music together. Dance and music, but especially drumming, have been one of the most important tools and mediums for experiencing and strengthening belonging since the dawn of humanity. It is a true communal experience whose power captivates even those who are not comfortable in the world of sounds.
Hearing the pulsating rhythm of the drums, one's hand involuntarily moves, and suddenly one finds that all worries have vanished, an hour has passed, and one has "learned" to drum with a smile. We in Europe have long since abandoned our own drumming traditions, but perhaps that is precisely why African and Latin rhythms have such an exhilarating effect on us.
Every participant receives an instrument (djembe, darbuka, cajon) and, led by the trainer, learns a few complex rhythms in 1-1.5-2 hours.
The activity should not be imagined as a conventional music lesson. Through rhythm games and improvisation, the team experiences the joy of making music together.
Naturally, the goal is not to develop musical skills (that's just a "side effect"); the essence is for the joy of music to captivate the participants. Everyone can join the games, even at different levels, and from simple elements, a powerful, complex performance emerges by the end.
